He is survived by his wife, Carla Gillespie; five daughters, Kimberly of Houston, Tasha Gillespie, Zenobi Gillespie, Latita Spencer and Mikkaela Sims; two sons, Willie C. Gillespie and Christoher Spencer all of Aberdeen; two stepchildren, Cortney Sims of Pascagoula and Takelia Simes of Aberdeen; three sisters, Joyce Stanfield(William of Houston), Selina Buchanan(Kenny) of Tupelo and Annie Chandler of Prairie; and three brothers, Willie Frank Gillesie of Prairie, Tommy Gillespie (Ada Faye) of Prairie and Walter Gillespie of Tupelo.
